Why volunteer with us?

Volunteers are essential to UWRA's mission of translating health research into community action. Whether you're a student, professional, researcher, or community advocate, your skills can help us reach more communities, produce better research, and create lasting health impact.

We offer flexible virtual and in-person opportunities that accommodate different schedules, time zones, and skill levels. Volunteers receive training, mentorship, and the opportunity to work alongside experienced researchers and practitioners.

Current volunteer opportunities

Research Assistant

Support literature reviews, data collection, analysis, and report writing for ongoing health research projects.

8-10 hrs/week | Remote

Community Outreach Coordinator

Organize community dialogues, health awareness events, and engage with local partners across Kenya.

5-8 hrs/week | Nairobi/Kisumu

Training Facilitator

Deliver masterclasses and workshops on research methods, data analysis, or scientific writing.

Communications & Content

Create blog posts, social media content, newsletters, and help translate research for public audiences.

Grant Writing Support

Assist in identifying funding opportunities, drafting proposals, and donor reporting.

Data Analyst

Support quantitative or qualitative data analysis using SPSS, NVivo, Excel, or R.
