Shortlisted candidates will be invited for an interview with the selection panel.

Successful candidates receive an acceptance letter and onboarding materials for the fellowship.

ELIGIBILITY

Eligibility & requirements

Please review the eligibility criteria carefully before applying.

Eligibility criteria

  • A degree in a relevant field (public health, medicine, social sciences, epidemiology, health economics, or related disciplines).
  • Undergraduate, graduates, students with strong research interest
  • Strong interest in research translation, implementation science, or evidence-based practice.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to commit to the full duration of the fellowship program.

Required documents

  • 2-page Curriculum Vitae (CV) — highlighting your education, experience, and research interests.
  • Statement of Purpose — explaining why you want to join the fellowship and how it aligns with your career goals (maximum 150 words).

Is the fellowship limited to applicants only from African countries?

No, citizens from any country from any region of the world are eligible to apply.

What is the duration of the fellowship and can it be offered virtually?

The program is structured as a two-month (8-week), 100% virtual intensive training, with mentorship and group & project work.

Is there a fee to apply?

No, there is no application fee. The fellowship is currently supported by UWRA and our partners.

Can I apply if I am currently a student?

Yes, students from all levels of education are encouraged to apply.

What is the language of instruction?

The fellowship is conducted in English.
